Writers speak out about their work

When successful people socialize, there's usually a crescendo of energy as they attempt to outwit each other. This ends either in an entertaining back-and-forth or terribly snarky dialogue. Either way, it's usually a lot of fun to watch. That's why Writers in the Round should be a hoot. Three writers -- Melanie Wells, Will Clarke and Harry Hunsicker -- and one musician -- Trish Murphy -- will tell some stories and just rap, free of charge, at the Belmont Hotel, 901 Fort Worth Ave., from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Call 1-877-476-3378.
